How to get HD quality (or close) on Xbox/PS2?

I have an HD tv and and an originak Xbox and PS2 (not slim). I was wondering wha can I do to get the highest quality gaming for each of these systems. What kind of cables, downloads, etc. do I need? It would also be nice if there is a universal HD cable with a PS2 thing and an Xbox one.
