So most of us know that school is out, or almost out. A few days ago, 7th and 8th graders (including myself) went to Valley Fair for an END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR thing. I was in a small group of friends, and one of them got hungry. We went ot a small little food shop and waited inside for our friend to get her food. Batch files suck... Why cant i run them?

ok... this is like the SIXTH time ive asked... nobody has helped... everytime i try to run a MS-DOS batch file, or something that ends in .bat, the cmd box opens for a split second, and then closes along with everything i already had opened. How can I accept user keyboard input on my webpage without using the html "input" function?

Im creating a website that is going to be text based (entirely). The navigation for the site is going to be dependent upon what users type in, but I do not want to use the "input" function in html, I wanted to mimic a linux box or the old ms-dos prompt styles for my site (blinking cursor and all). So basically the user would type something like /home ... and /home would be stored as a variable saying go-to www.my-home-page.com etc etc, I know this is going to take a lot of if / then statements and that's fine, I just need to get past the part of accepting user input, the language required to do this matters not (php, html, js, etc). I've been playing around in MS-DOS making some small programs that are basically calculators and the like. I am really looking to make a simple program but something that looks like a regular program you would see on a windows pc, instead of black and white with stale text. I know it is complex and am not asking you to tell me how to do it but I don't really know what to look for. I would like to keep the automation down to a minimum. I mean if the whole thing is a template from a program and all I have to do is drag a few buttons around the place and copy some code then I'm not going to bother. I'd really like to learn the inner workings of how to create my own program from complete scratch everything from windows detecting the code to compiling the graphics. Before you ask I am not taking it seriously it is just something I am interested in and would like to have a look at I mean if it would take me a year to finish by myself then I won't start. Windows 7 recovery virus (uninstall)?

So i've ran two macros in ms dos, one to terminate files in my c drive that generated virus popups (RKill) and another to restore hidden files (h+). After I ran my malwarebytes anti malware scan and deleted all infected objects.......BUTTT when i restarted my pc I had to do it all over again b/c the virus started all over again with the popups and hiding file. This second time around I did all steps besides restart pc....any suggestions??

Reformatting SD Card?

So i got an 8GB SD card for my camera. I have a Kodak EasyShare Z710. When i put in the SD card it tells me it's unusable and asks for a different SD card. I put in a 1 GB SD card and it works fine. I have a mac and i looked and the one that works is formatted to MS-DOS (FAT16) and the one that doesn't work is MS-DOS (FAT32)... when i tried reformatting the one that doesn't work it doesn't give me an option in disk utility for FAT16 or FAT32. i'm pretty sure this is the problem... how do i format it to FAT16?

I have an Acer Aspire One net-book. I was installing windows me on an old pc for my daughters to play on. I was half way through installation wen the power cable was pulled out accidentally, not lost everything, tried to boot from disc but just goes to MS-dos which I am not familiar with. My computer started acting kind of funky so I restarted it then all of a sudden windows wouldn't load but a black screen came up that said some of the disks are inconsistent and then it went through this whole MS-DOS looking thing, kind of like a scan. You do realize, I hope, that straight DOS cannot read NTFS drives (which is the WinXP and up default) but that the DOS box you are using is actually under Windows. Xcopy will work. For help just type xcopy /? and a help box will come up. If, however, you are planning on booting to an actual DOS disc you will not "see" your hard drive.

Hi i recently installed windows 7 on my desktop and i accidentally compressed "bootmgr" and it won't let me start windows, even if i try pressing F8 to go into safe mode. Wha to wear for my first track practice?

In general for the heat you should wear clothes that are designed to wick the sweat and can easily breath so you won't be over heated. Essentials for track would be a track tank top, racing shorts and either compression socks or running socks. You should also have a pair of spikes, t-shirt, running pants and jacket. Bring a gym bag with your i-pod, water or sports drink, sun-glasses, sun-block and anything else you might need? Meets can take the whole day so it's best to come prepared maybe even a pillow for the ride home. Good luck!

Is operating system an abstraction ?

How does it matter if you assemble, link and load an assembly language code in DOS environment or Windows environment? shouldn't result be the same? after all execution is done by microprocessor, not operating system. Two things about red and processed meats...?

1. How much do Americans eat red or processed meats? Be it a day, week, month, or year? And 2, I'm adjusting the way I eat. I'm not going into a full blow celebrity diet or whatever. I would look in your lease and see if it says anything about working ac. From what I have read here in NC, if it is in the lease, they have 30 days to fix it or that breaks your lease. Not sure how that goes where you though. Look up the landlord tenant laws for your state.

You need to find a 12 year old machine. Anything newer will not deal with dos, the bios will not support it. And they mostly did not have a current type IDE connection. Again finding a 12 year old drive which still works will be difficult.

You also want it to stay enjoyable, so you learn proper form and techniques ( practice is needed) and you allow your brain and body time to catch up to your mind's new ambitions ( your digestion, sleep, energy, mood, etc, will all improve over time, and need to again to keep up, without letting you down. At your age it's also very important to keep things sensible, as your developing still hormonally, and can mess that up for life if you push yourself to hard, so don't be in a rush, you will see slow and steady will get you there!

How do I use MS-DOS from floppy drive?

Sounds like your HDD had NTFS on it hence the prompt for a password. DOS booted from a floppy will neither recognize nor be able to handle NTFS. Suggest you boot to the A: prompt and run FDISK. Use that utility to delete the partition and create a new primary partition so you can then format the drive and load a new OS on this machine. An easier way to handle this situation is to download the ultimate boot disk (google it).

I already have the installtion files on the server hard drive but the setup cant run cos its files are on a host runing win 2003 32 bit hence the server complains. Dodge cummings drivetrain issue?

Ok well my friend has a Dodge cummings diesle truck I'd say like mid 90's not the old style but not the new style. The style that had all the tranny issues. Here is my question he's got a bunch of upgrades to the truck it makes I believe 600hp and like 900lbs of tourqe. He runs a 3:55 gear in it and I would think that this gear is not right..shouldnt it be no less then 3:73's? He has gone through a bunch of tranny rebuilds and just yesterday blew his rear end. What is casuing his problems? I think he's making to much tourqe for the drivetrain to handle and when you make that much tourqe you can exspect to break **** all the time...unless you go aftermarket and beef the **** out of it.

Can anyone help me with formatting HD as FAT32 on Mac?

Whenever I try to format my HD as FAT32 by going to Disk Utility, then the Erase tab, choosing MS-DOS System then hitting "Erase", it doesn't seem to work. It simply does not work. Can you eat molded beef jerky?

Basically my mother makes her own beef jerky. She marinates the slices of beef then leaves it out in the sun for it to dry. I use to eat these a lot before watching the process. Help. I have made beef empanadas before but never chicken. After some research on-line I've found a ton of recipes with too many ingredients and they all seem to call for hard boiled eggs. UTI Not Going Away, Dr. Has Me On 2 Antibiotics at once?

I've had this for over a month and I'm very uncomfortable with the frequent urination and burning, so I went to the Urologiest yesterday and he has me on 2 antibiotics at once, plus he gave me a shot for a third. What if that doesn't do it? What is next? I apparantly have a hard to kill strain of bacteria and I'm very afraid it will go to my kidneys. I'm under medical care but so far it's still here... How do I make a proper American style beef burger?

The tastiest way to cook burgers is on the BBQ, but pan frying works well too. For each burger, use 6-8 oz. of ground beef. The best burgers do contain some fat, so try to purchase chopped/minced beef that is 75-80% lean. Help with tofu recipe please?

We got some tofu the other day so I tried to make some tofu stirfry... I made some really good tofu stirfry a couple of months ago but I forgot to save the recipe! so I spent forever looking for another recipe. I finally found one that looked okay, but when I made it the tofu was WAY too salty. It said to marinate the tofu in soy sauce and garlic, and I cooked veggies seperately (broccoli, mushrooms, peas, onions). I tried the tofu and it was WAY too salty and marinating it made it look really unappetizing (it looked like beef chunks; I'm a vegetarian and I never was a fan of beef before) I put it in with the veggies hoping they'd dilute the salty taste or something, but I ending up taking it out and storing it in the fridge because it was just wayyyyy too salty to eat. Is there any way to make it taste less salty? Oh, and does anyone have any tried and true good recipes using tofu?

Hi, I'm making a game in VBScript, using input boxes where you type a number to make something happen. When the thing is done, it goes back to the main input box, where you can type a different number and make something else happen. One problem,though. I don't know how to make it go back to the first one. I COULD rewrite the main input box after the thing has happened, but then I would have to write the things in again and write the main input box at the end of that, and the option things with the main input box at the bottom of THEM, and on and on and on. You see? So I am wondering what I can do to loop back, like in MS-DOS Batch you would do the "loop" command, or the "goto" command, but what about VBScript?

Im a 19 year old male and its kind of embarrassing for me to have fat on my glutes, and the rest of my body theres hardly any fat. I eat beef jerky everyday at work and that's it at work. I do sit ups everyday, push ups with weights, glute exercises as-well but it seems like the rest of my body is in decent shape but all the fat seems to go to my glutes and thighs and i hate that. I do jump-ropes on days im off but it still seems like im getting no where. Theres no fat on my arms, no fat on my calf's and a little fat on my stomach but most fat seems to go to my *** and thighs and i cant seem to make it go away. How to remove a .pif virus from my computer?

Long story short, I was hacked and I was tricked into downloading this file that is going to destroy my computer. It is a .pif file that was downloaded and it is FUD (fully undetectable) so my Norton Virus Scanner doesn't even pick it up. I deleted it from my registry, but I don't know if that is going to do anything. He said once I restart my computer this is when the file will take action.
